The SPW is an essential part of the Social Preparation Phase of the iSchools Project Life Cycle geared to equip concern officials of the project's recipient schools, enabling them to craft an effective and realistic Sustainability Plan – a tool that shall establish a backbone to the existence and sustenance of ICT delivery and efficiency for their respective schools.
The workshop was attended by the community and academic leaders from the different recipient public high schools in Mindanao. The participants were comprised by the General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA) officers, school's principals, barangay captains and councilors and the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Coordinators.
The participants were trained through lectures, workshops, and scenario settings tailored to hone an effective approach on Project Sustainability, Sustainability Considerations, and Sustainability Planning as relevant issues were addressed and discussed by competent speakers and authorities.
The participants were welcomed by the NORMISIST host-team spearheaded by Mr. Jaymer M. Jayoma, the NORMISIST ICT Coordinator and by Engr. Jonathan M. Tiongson, the iSchools Project Teachers Training Coordinator (TTC), who also functioned as the master of ceremony during the event.
Contributing to the success of the event was the collaboration of efforts made possible by the facilitators coming from the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), Northern Mindanao State Institute of Science and Technology (NORMISIST), Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU - IIT), Bukidnon State University (BukSU), Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology (MOSCAT), and Davao del Norte State College (DNSC).
Ms. Antonette T. Torres, the iSchools National Project Manager led the meeting with the facilitators and discussed the issues encountered in the workshop for the improvement of future SPWs.
